Act II, Scene v

Behold yet another scene in which Shakespeare makes an extended joke out of one character's desperately seeking information that another character gleefully withholds (see Hamlet Jr!). Fortunately, it's a good shtick!

Also, we have once again done a scene with more than two characters (come to think of it, Macbeth Jr! is our only truly two-character scene to date). In light of social distancing, this presents a bit of a challenge. So far, we've approached this challenge in the following ways:

  • Hamlet Jr! -- Horatio cut/merged with the Grave-digger

  • The Tempest Jr! -- Maggie as both Caliban and Stephano

  • Twelfth Night Jr! -- Sir Toby Belch cut/merged with Maria, plus Cousin Addie patched in to play Malvolio

This time, we tried a new tack -- admittedly, a controversial one given the Jr! part of our name. But when we realized the third character was a Peter... well, our hands were tied.

A big thanks to Grummy (my mom) for making Ronan's nurse costume! She's quite fond of these silly videos and is eager to help out--even all the way from Pennsylvania. She actually made a Juliet costume as well, but Kaede had a stroke of genius that took us in another direction, albeit a direction that involved two other Grummy creations all the same! Meanwhile, we already have other plans for that Juliet costume.

Our dear friend and neighbor Betsey also deserves a (partially belated) shout-out as she provided all headwear for this scene, as well as Caliban's gaberdine a couple weeks back. Better late than never!

Finally, if you've grown tired of our self-indulgence, you're in (relative) luck: this one barely tops seven minutes!
