Act III, Scene ii

Wow! Our tenth Shakespeare Jr! Whoduh thunk we would've made it this far? Believe it or not, if anyone is running out of steam, it's me, but after a little prodding Kaede and the kids are always able to get me back on board. Or that's been the case so far at least!

It was nice to return to a comedy after a couple tragedies (even if we do generally choose the scenes of comic relief). Here's a recap:

Rosalind is on the run from her usurping uncle, Duke Frederick. To increase her safety, she disguises herself as a man, taking on the name Ganymede and purchasing a hideout in the form of a cottage tended by a local shepherd named Corin. Meanwhile, local heartthrob Orlando has developed a crush on her and has devised an unconventional method of getting his message across. Of course, Shakespeare throws into the mix Touchstone, Frederick's court fool who has come along to keep an eye on Rosalind/sass everyone.

We had some creative ideas for who might portray Orlando, but none of them panned out. Oh well. As a result, both kids doubled up on roles for the first time!

Thanks to Grummy again, this time for the well-timed gifting of a sheep puppet, and also to Grampy Ron and Nana Claire, who each leant a hand -- quite literally. Well, Claire leant one of Ron's.
