Act III, Scene i, and Act IV, Scene i

After The Tempest Jr! we vowed to tackle more modest scenes for a while. Well, it seems that modesty has finally run out. This one slowly got weirder and sillier until it became a joyous, shamelessly absurd cultural bricolage. Then again, I guess that description suits many of Shakespeare's plays even before they're lifted off the page...

This was our first time combining two scenes into one (we just couldn't get enough of Bottom and the fairies) and definitely our highest character-count to date. We are so grateful to our awesome cousins in Massachusetts and New York for answering our crazy call and delivering some top-notch voice acting (to say nothing of their little dance moves!).

Maggie loved being in a position of power. Ronan loved talking to stuffies. Kaede loved brilliantly solving every costuming, set, and technical challenge these odd scenes presented. Well, since she's at work as I'm posting this, I can't say for sure whether she loved it, but she sure kicked butt at it!

I'm going to be honest -- what I most loved was getting TWO krautrock bands onto the soundtrack. A tad ironic given our other special guest's experiences in Germany during WW2? He and Shakespeare are probably both rolling in their graves...

So it goes.
